It is human nature to try to control the world. After all, You Only Live Once, why not live a life that changes the world right? Though this might seem like a genuine reason to try to take control of the world, it doesn’t work.
Before I get any further, I am going to let you know the truth of the matter, which is, that you cannot control the world. Why the world, you can’t even control another single person’s thought. You could try to influence that, but never directly control it.
Although this might seem nihilistic, it’s actually not.
There is one thing you CAN control in life, which would be your own mind. By controlling your mind, you take control of all the things that are controlled by your mind. Your body is the first thing that the mind controls, which gives you the freedom to move in physical space and make physical acts.
Trying to control the world only exhausts your energy because at the end of the day you cannot control the results. As John Sonmez from Simple Programmer says, you gotta just trust the process and not care too much about the results.
If you do end up making an impact and changing the world, awesome. If not, you can sleep in peace knowing that you did what you could to influence change. The results may come or may not come, all you gotta do is stop thinking too much about the results and get into action.
The last book of the Bible, Revelation, says,
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
This is such a powerful verse as it sums up in one verse the attitude that you need to have after reading through the entire Bible.
At the end of the day, he that is unjust, let him be unjust still, and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still. Live your life improving yourself, and try to influence by living by example, instead of preaching it too much.
